2024

2024

This year's projects have been selected based on both previous and new proposals. In the spring, the following projects were underway:
- Description: Robot for weed removal through touch.
- Facilitators: John Rasmussen (MP).
- Areas: Mechanics.
- Description: Bricks are one of the most commonly used materials in constructions with a production of more than 5 billion annually. As a base, bricks consist of clay, which is a limited resource. Therefore, it is interesting to investigate whether clay can be replaced with other materials to extend the production of bricks. For example, old wind turbine blades.
- Facilitators: Hicham Johra (BUILD), Rasmus Lund Jensen (BUILD), Martin Bonderup Østergaard (BIO), Yuanzheng Yue (BIO), Johnny Jakobsen (MP), Lars Rosgaard (MP).
- Areas: Build/BIO/Mechanics.
- Description: An exciting "bubble project" (a research project where lead engineering can also be considered): The project involves a preliminary investigation into quantifying walking performance using smartphones.
- Facilitators: Anderson de Souza Castelo Oliveira (MP), Jan Østergaard (MATHEMATICS).
- Areas: Mechanics/Mathematics.
- Description:
(Three in one: Robots in Chemistry labs, Robotic rock grasping and computer vision on the Moon and Mars, Autonomous space rover navigation on the Moon and Mars):
1. Robots in chemistry labs:
a. ROB7 (7. semester) (Simon Bøgh)
b. CHEM/BIO1 (Mads Koustrup Jørgensen+Casper Steinmann)
2. Robotic rock grasping and computer vision on the Moon and Mars:
a. ROB3 (3. semester) (Simon)
b. ROB9 (9. semester) internship v. ESA (Simon)
3. Autonomous space rover navigation on the Moon and Mars:
a. ROB5 (5. semester) (Simon)
b. ROB9 (9. semester) (Simon)
c. VT3 (9. semester) (Simon) AAU SPACE robotics.
- Facilitators: Mads Pagh Nielsen (ENERGY), Mads Koustrup Jørgensen (BIO), Casper Steinman (BIO), Simon Bøgh (MP), and others.
- Areas: Energy/BIO/Mechanics.
- Description: An insect farm project.
- Facilitators: Carsten Bojesen (ENERGY), Niels T. Eriksen (BIO).
- Areas: Energy/Sustainability. 2nd or/and 4th semester.
- Description: Development of a tower and a floating foundation for a vertical-axis wind turbine. Blades, Structure, Foundation, Battery & Control.
- Facilitators: Tamas Kerekes (ENERGY), Dario Parigi (BUILD), Lars Bo Ibsen (BUILD), Lars Rosgaard (MP), Jens Andreasen (MP).
- Areas: Energy/Build/Mechanics. 2nd semester or other semesters.
- Description: Catamaran with accompanying docking station collects plastic in the port environment of Esbjerg Harbor.
- Facilitators: Mads Valentin Bram (ENERGY), Anders Schmidt Kristensen (ENERGY), Matthias Mandø (MP).
- Areas: Energy/Mechanics.
- Description: Drone technology.
- Facilitators: Matthias Mandø (MP).
- Areas: Mechanics/Build.
- Description: Production of hydrogen from waste.
- Facilitators: Matthias Mandø (MP).
- Areas: Mechanics/Build.
